Job Title: Project Leader/Principal Scientist II, Medicinal Chemistry
Location: Shanghai
Job Responsibilities
Lead internal and CRO medicinal chemistry teams and set directions for SAR to drive project(s) towards critical decisions
Work effectively with cross functional team members from pharmacology, computation, ADME, toxicology and development functions to identify and resolve critical project issues
Represent project team to clearly articulate project objectives, critical issues, strategy, and resource needs to influence internal key stakeholders
Run productive lab (internal and/or external)
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in organic or medicinal chemistry
3-7 years of drug discovery experiences, preferably in multi-national pharmaceutical/biotech companies with experiences in both lead generation and lead optimization; knowledge in carbohydrate and/or peptide is a plus
Demonstrated ability in solving challenging synthetic and medicinal chemistry problems to impact project(s)
Demonstrated understanding and experience in applying basic concepts in pharmacology, computation, ADME, toxicology to drug discovery project(s)
Good communication and cross functional interaction skills

Prior supervisory experience is preferred
Record of improving productivity and performance of CRO partner is a plus
